Reon van Aardt
RD(SA), B.Sc Dietetics (UFS), M.Sc Dietetics (UFS)

Reon qualified at the University of the Free State in 2014. After graduation, he completed his community service year at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Nelspruit, obtaining valuable experience in critical care, internal medicine, paediatrics and surgery. The following year he continued working in a hospital environment and private practice whilst commencing a Master of Science degree in Dietetics, which he finished in 2019 with a research dissertation on professional athletes.

Apart from doing clinical nutrition at the Nelspruit private hospitals, he also does consultations in sport nutrition (being a comrades ultra marathon runner himself), as well as disease specific nutrition and all lifestyle related conditions. Reon has been serving on the Mpumalanga Committee of The Association for Dietetics in South Africa since 2019.

Reon has co-authored a published article in the South African Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2016 –  a descriptive cross sectional study which assessed malnutrition in the elderly residing in long-term care facilities. He is currently busy with his second publication.

Emmari van Jaarsveld

Joined RVA Dietitians in 2019

Emmari qualified at North-West University in 2017. After graduation, she completed her community service year at Barberton Hospital where she obtained experience in internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics and feeding of premature infants. In 2022, Emmari completed the South African Certified Lactation Consultant’s course (SACLC) accredited by WITS. She has a special interest in maternity nutrition, infant feeding, paediatrics and lifestyle related conditions.

Hanna Kruger

Our lovely “ad hoc” RVA Dietitian since 2021

Hanna completed a Bachelors’ degree in Dietetics at the University of Pretoria in 2013 and worked in the public sector for three years before she traded the big city for life in the beautiful and serene White River.

Her special interests include working with breastfeeding mothers and infants. She believes that good nutrition from the start of life is the best steppingstone towards a healthy and thriving life and is therefore completing a post-graduate course on breastfeeding to become a South African Certified Lactation Consultant.

She currently works in a private practice in White River as a public health consultant and doing out-patient consultations.

She enjoys working part time with RVA Dietitians in the Nelspruit private hospitals and serves on the Mpumalanga Committee of The Association for Dietetics in South African since 2019.

Kylie Mather
RD (SA), B.Sc Dietetics (UWC)
Joined RVA Dietitians in 2022

Kylie completed her Bachelors’ Degree in Dietetics at the University of the Western Cape and started her career in a rural public hospital where she headed up the Dietetics Department and managed nutrition services at surrounding clinics.

Her special interests include Gut Health (she completed a course in the nutritional management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Mental Health and Sports Nutrition.

Kylie’s mission is to follow evidence-based nutrition while providing practical guidelines that enable you and your family to live a healthy sustainable lifestyle.

“Borrowing” her from Maria van der Merwe Dietitians in White River, Kylie will be running the Virgin Active (Nelspruit) practice for RVA Dietitians three times per week.
